Tips for Calming Your Girlfriend Down

Finding out your girlfriend is in tears or having a blowout while away from you can be devastating. It is overwhelming if she’s next to you and needs to calm down. When things blow over, relationships can become volatile. There is no guaranteed way to calm someone when they blow their top.

Bitterness and being teary-eyed mean someone is facing something disheartening. Your girlfriend might need alone time rather than quality time. Bringing over friends or family is counterproductive. Understanding where the problem lies is of utmost importance.

Men find it particularly difficult to calm their girlfriends down. If she is angry with you it can be hard finding a calming solution. Being emotional wrecks, hot Russian brides cause drama for anyone involved. This may not be intentional, but most people close to her will feel the pain.

Finding Solutions

Before diving into the solutions to calming your girlfriend, here are a few pointers on what to avoid.

  1. If your girlfriend is fuming, do not tell her to calm down. This might add fuel to the fire. This is important when you are responsible for her distress.  Comment on her overreacting with caution. Never tell a lady to stop overreacting. Chances are she will get even angrier and now focus her attention, and anger on you.
  2. Avoid over-ambitious solutions. Over-ambition might have you offering help. If she insists she can handle it, let her be. Offering help might be counterproductive as she knows your capabilities. Stick to being a good listener and simply listen.

How to Calm Down Your Girlfriend

1. Technology

If you are far away, use technology to your advantage. She may be uninterested in talking over the phone. Send smileys and short texts to keep her smiling. Mention something she loves, an activity you once enjoyed, or interesting topics. Don’t bring up important issues or problems to divert her thoughts. She will simply ask why you would bring it up at that moment.

2. Gifts

If you are far away you can send her virtual gifts. These could be gifts to make her smile or an actual voucher or rose online. If she insists on not talking, send her physical gifts. Have someone deliver more than just roses to her. Send her the wine she likes if she’s a drinker. She might be surprised you want her loaded while she’s distressed. She will appreciate that you need her to loosen up. Try sending her tickets to a movie or show she loves. She will respond when the tears have dried up.

3. Visit her

If she’s away from you, make an effort to visit her. Alert her of your coming. It works well if you simply show up and shut up too. Hand her a glass of water as she pants. Help clean up the clutter left while throwing tantrums. Avoid telling her to calm down or that she’s overreacting. Stick to helping out in other ways, which usually involves physically moving stuff.

Bottom Line

Trying to calm your girlfriend can be challenging. When relationships involve anger or bitterness to the point of crying, it is harder to calm someone. Women have it easy calming a man, but the opposite is far harder. Remember to try to calm a girlfriend down and there will be little to worry about.
