How to Use Tech to Improve Office Deliveries and Protect Your Assets

If you are a start-up business, you might be concerned about how you are going to keep track of your deliveries and protect the financial assets that will be transported to your office. Fortunately, to help you out, here is some of the technology you should consider using to improve any deliveries that will be sent to your office and ensure that the process is much smoother than it could be.

1. Use Smart Outdoor Lockers

One of the first technologies that you should consider investing in is outdoor lockers. Outdoor lockers can ensure that your deliveries are kept dry and protected until you or an employee is free to collect them if there is no one on hand to collect them right away. Not only this, but many outdoor lockers are now smart. This means that they can communicate with software that can be downloaded onto your mobile phone. This software will alert you and your employees when a parcel has been delivered to them and is being held in the outdoor locker and will also allow you to retrieve parcels contract-free. Not only this, but these lockers will often have unique PINs and barcodes with which individual employees can open their own compartments and access the parcels inside. This minimizes the risk of lost and stolen parcels and ensures that only the addressee will be able to pick up the parcel in question. Another similar option is a safety deposit box, where delivery drivers can drop important parcels off and remain locked until you go to them.

2. Install Delivery Cameras

You can also improve your office deliveries using technology by installing security cameras in your office. These cameras will help you see the exterior of your office and any parcels left there and will enable you to stay alert to trespassers who might be looking to steal your valuable assets. This will also enable you to have video evidence of thefts which you can then hand to the police if there is an issue. Not only this, but many video cameras connect to your mobile phone and can send you alerts if there is an intruder, meaning that you will be able to see immediately when an out-of-the-ordinary situation occurs and stop it in its tracks.

3. Invest in a Smart Doorbell

You should also consider investing in a smart doorbell for your office, which delivery drivers will need to ring when they drop off your parcel. This can connect to your mobile phone and let you know that someone is outside your office. This alert will prompt you to collect the parcel ASAP and can be useful if you need to sign for an item. These doorbells can also often be connected to video cameras and business security systems to ensure that action is taken quickly when there is a problem and that you are never left in the dark about any intruders that are on your premises. If you want peace of mind, this is a great investment to make.
